Council is currently finalising the detailed design for the planned stormwater drainage improvement works at Darley Road and Ashburner Street, Manly. This includes upgrading stormwater pits and pipes along Darley Road as well as the upgrading of pits and pipes in Cliff Street and Ashburner Street, and near the intersection of Darley Road.

The detailed design phase involving the preparation of construction drawings and technical specifications commenced but the project was delayed in 2022 / 2023 because of the AUSGRID service upgrade works which would have directly impacted the proposed stormwater works. A Request for Quotation (RFQ) has yet to be issued by Council.

Council staff aims to unveil the outcomes of their traffic studies and the proposed traffic calming initiatives at the October 2023 meeting. A roadmap for the phased implementation of these propositions shall be disclosed for further community consultation.

Stay tuned, dear Manly residents, for a transformation that’s not just about the roads but about fostering a more vibrant and harmonious community. Together, we’re steering the course for a brighter Manly.
